Otto Vance, is discovered with a dead with head injury caused by a solar panel. Was it an accidental fall or was it murder? There had been some resentment that his pub had been chosen as the beer distributor for the Oktoberfest celebrations. The farm that had been chosen to represent the local town produce and beef was a national seller of beef and corn (which was strictly against the rules for what qualified as a local small farm, and corn was the only vegetable grown there) to provide the vegetables and meat. Were these small grudges enough for a murder? Or does someone have bigger plans for the town than a harvest festival? And how far will they go to protect their interest? Why would someone be watching Megan's farm?Wendy Tyson brings another exciting story to play with avid descriptions, and bringing emotions to life that cause you to feel as if you were a witness to the events as they happened.

Wendy Tyson gives us just the right mix of action, edge, & emotion! I had a hard time putting this down!
This book took me a long time to get into. In fact, I put this one on the "back burner" and was not sure I would finish it. However, I think I quit reading it just as it made a turn to become interesting and could not put it down for about the last 75 to 100 pages. In the end, an intriguing theme and one that I would have never guessed or been able to pick out the culprit. So, I wound up giving this book 4 stars. I would not give it 5 stars because of that slow start. It just did not catch me from the beginning.
Another wonderful mystery from Wendy Tyson. Really enjoyed this second book in the Greenhouse Mystery series. The plot weaves a seasonal Octoberfest story, small town intrigues and continued character growth from the first book in the series A Muddied Murder. Looking forward to reading Seeds of Revenge when it is published later this year.
I absolutely loved this book. I literally couldn't put it down. Wendy has a way of making you feel that you are a part of the characters lives. I never would have done guessed who the killer was. Wendy really kept us guessing until the end. I found myself on the edge of my seat rooting for Megan, Denver, Bonnie (Bibi), Emily and Lily. Can't wait for the next book. Wendy is a terrific writer and I highly recommend this book to all, you won't be disappointed.
5 gold stars for this great Farming Mystery. Wendy Tyson has a great series in the works. I just finished up Bitter Harvest book 2 in the Green House Series and it was a read the has you on the edge of your seat. With not one but two murders hanging over the October feast it will take a middle to find the killer and when the truth is unearthed its more to it the meets the eyes. Its a book that everyone will like to read.
I worried that I might not enjoy this second book in the series as much, but as soon as I started it, I was comfortably surrounded by friends from the first book and transported to familiar places where the sights and fragrances welcomed me. There were mysterious happenings, questions about who to trust, with danger nearby, with no easy giveaways as to who was involved, or what was the secret cause of the disappearances and deadly discoveries. Romance is still growing, and family history continues to threaten family connections. I enjoyed the visit and didn't want to leave, but did want to find the answers to so many questions, so I am glad that there is another book in the series so that I can return for another visit after I finished this one and discovered the who, and the how, and the why.
Megan Sawyer should be ecstatic because her organic farm, Washington Acres survived its first year and the café has become a welcoming spot for locals. Plus,Winsome’s sexy Scottish veterinarian is making house calls, but not just for the animals. But with fall approaching, Winsome is preparing for its grand Oktoberfest celebration, but there is much more brewing than beer.
I fell in love with the first book because of the unique characters and quirky situations. It was wonderful to revisit them, and fans of the first book will find they are just as strong here. Six months has law between books and the characters have grown and are becoming well developed. I an eagerly awaiting the next book in this series!
On a side note, we all been told not to judge a book by its cover, but the covers of the Greenhouse Mystery series is awesome! Designed after vintage seed packages, I am looking forward to seeing the next covers.
